We choose to love every child that enters our home, but in order to love them well, we have to love their family of origin as well, because that child loves their family and God loves their family.
We have found that when we intentionally live out Jesus’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves, not as we think they have earned or deserve, that we are granted the incredible privilege of being a part of Jesus’ restoration and renewal stories for these families. Loving this way means saying hard goodbyes when our kiddos get to return to their families, but it also means the world has a few less broken families and a few less broken hearts.
